Parish Life
Women of St. John’s
This group meets once a month. It focuses on service projects, holds a monthly clothing sale, and sponsors an annual women’s retreat. It has also published a cookbook of parishioners’ recipes, Sharing Our Best. Each Christmas, it sells wreaths and Christmas trees as a fundraiser, and all money it raises helps the church in a variety of ways. Contact Lorene Kirk for more information.
Men of St. John's
Our Mission: The Men’s Fellowship at St. John’s is an engaging group of parishioners who show their spirit in volunteer work, outreach, and spiritual growth efforts while enjoying the fellowship of their Christian brothers.
Meetings: The Men’s Fellowship meets at 6:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, September through June.
Appalachian Outreach Ministry
We serve the people of Appalachia, particularly concentrating on the northern part of Campbell County, TN., which is in our diocese. In this area the poverty is so severe that nearly 96 percent of children qualify for the schools' free lunch program.
We strive to make a difference for families identified and monitored for us by a local Campbell County contact person.
