Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ!
Our Patron Saint, John the Evangelist, was a fisherman, a disciple, an apostle, and close friend of Jesus of Nazareth, and the author of the fourth of the Gospel account and the Book of Revelation. His name is also borne by three pastoral letters. As the rector of an Episcopal Church bearing his name I have found it a profitable task to pay special attention to what John has written about Jesus and the Christian life. His themes of life, and spirit, and love ring through all of these written works.
Our life as a community of Christians is rich with opportunities to learn the message of LIFE in Christ. We gather each Sunday to hear the Good News and contemplate how we are to live with each other, and to celebrate with a long and noble tradition of worship that engages us in the mysteries of LIFE in Christ. We are blessed with wonderful spaces, old and new, that speak of established tradition and new expression. We are blessed with a talented staff and dedicated leaders.
I pray that all of you reading this, member or visitor, will find your life enriched by your contact with God through this congregation.
Peace,
The Rev. Hal Thomas Hutchison, MDiv, DMin
